Small dents caused by hail or minor collisions can often be fixed with a plunger. Make sure the area is clean and wet, then place the plunger over the dent and push and pull to create suction. The suction should pop the dent back into place.

To minimize the appearance of light surface scratches, apply a small amount of toothpaste to a clean, damp cloth and rub it in a circular motion over the scratch. Wipe it clean and check the results. Toothpaste can be a mild abrasive, so it can help to polish out light scratches.

If you have a minor scratch that hasn't gone through the clear coat, you can fix it with a touch-up paint kit that matches your car's color. Clean the area thoroughly, apply a thin coat of paint, and let it dry completely.
